For some strange reason I am always attracted to white shirts and black slacks! When paired together though the full outfit can look a little host/waitress-ish.
By finding peices that have details in the tailoring and adding heels and a bold clutch you can look very cool and sexy! Find a light weight button up shirt with rolled up sleeves. These slacks from Old Navy are great paired with heels (the hem is at the ankle and needs heels to lengthen your leg) .

Tube Top
Tube Tops are an Average Jane's closet staple! These shirts are great for under off the shoulder sweaters, loose tanks, and sheer tops. Because it's SO freakin hot out I've shown these tanks worn with simple high waisted bottoms.
The first look is a night time outfit. I love the mix of metallic fabric and leopard print shoes. The second outfit is a daytime outfit. The shorts are a soft satin fabric that drapes really well and looks great with the tight top. Because the neck is open I like to play up this area with a bold necklace.

Monday Work Outfit
Monday mornings come way to soon don't they!? Work just drags on and on...so why not dress comfy? Today's outfit is just as cozy as a pair of PJ's, just don't fall asleep on your keyboard!
First I started with a cotton V Neck t-shirt. Everyone should have one in their closet. Then I added a cotton stretch pencil skirt. I cannot express how much I LOVE my stretchy skirts! To dress up the outfit I included nude pumps, but you can do flats if you can't stand heels. To keep with the easy going vibe I fish tail braided the hair (so you don't have to spend all morning curling). The make up is girly but easy using a lip stain and cream blush. Just add a quick swipe of nude shadow and mascara. I love to add an unexpected peice like this masculine watch.

Wish List 7-16-2011
First of all...I have no idea why the picture is so small, I apologize in advance. Everyone put on your cute reading glasses! ;)
I recently went to the mall and saw all the new Fall clothes and I am SO excited! This Fall is all about girly comfort. Big boyfriend cardigans, loose knit sweaters (for layering over summer dresses), long maxi skirts, and chunky wedges. With this being said I can't help but try to incorporate my new purchases with the Fall pieces that are coming. Here's a tip for clearance shopping this season...Don't take the tags off until you are walking out the door! Every 30 days I reassess my closet. Any clothes with tags still attached go back to the store!
1. Sheer safari shirt (I found this at Express for $40)
*This piece is a great layering item and looks great belted at the waist or tucked into a pencil skirt
2. White flowy tank
*This tank looks great with loose shorts. For the fall I plan on pairing it with maxi skirts and a chunky cardigan
3. Red A Line Skirt
*Red and pink are a very popular pairing right now. In the fall I am going to pair this skirt with a denim shirt tied at the waist and wedges
4. Swing Skirt in neutral print
*This skirt will take you far in the Fall. I am going to pair it with a long loose knit sweater, black tights, and black wedges.
5. Urban Outfitters Suede Heels
*These heels come in a rainbow of colors with a heel height of only 3 inches! For $40 get a pair in black, beige, and red
6. Skinny belt
*The wide belt is slowly going out of style *tear* so now I have to replace mine with skinnies.

From Work to Play
Incorporating your work wardrobe into your play wardrobe is not only smart, but money conscious too!
Instead of the usual slacks and button down, try a new look with a swingy skirt and matching boyfriend cardigan. Low heeled, closed toe shoes are impossible to find these days! I found these at Urban Outfitters (online, link below) and they're cheap too! Great for an office setting.
When you punch the time clock take your cardigan off and switch with a long necklace. Trade out the close toed heels for cage sandals and your ready for whatever the evening has in store :)

Camera Ready
When coming up with this outfit I couldn't help but envisioning the person wearing it. An artsy girl with a hipstamatic camera in the park, taking amazing shots of flowers.
I never thought I would love this color combo, but it's growing on me :) Pink and red are the epitome of girliness...don't you think? Paired with chunky wedges and loose wavy hair this look goes from prissy to glam.

Pastel Princess
Pastels are a Summer staple. I've always loved baby blue and usually pair it with purple or gray, but today I've paired it with a light, airy, white tank. When wearing loose shorts I like to wear wedges to elongate my legs. To accessorize add a white fedora and pretty charm bracelet.

Easy, Breezy, Beautiful
It's easy to dress down (Jeans and T-shirt) and it's easy to dress up (LBD), but how do you do the in between? When invited to hang out with friends or co-workers you should try to look your best with out looking like you tried to hard. This is my version of dressed down dress :)
First start with a dress. I prefer one that is colorful to one that is black or white. Then start layering. The sheer button up "safari shirt" is very popular right now and you can find one in any store. My tips on wearing this type of shirt is buy one size up and get one in a neutral beige color. Cinch this shirt at the waist with a skinny belt. Wear a pair of heels in a matching color to the belt and keep jewelry at a minimum. Pull hair back and accessorize with a double head band.
