I love how the colors and prints bring me to a Parisian sort of mind set. You can take this outfit straight from work to dinner without hesitation. When looking at the dress you notice that the lines are not horizontal or vertical, they are curved so not to give extra width. Having a trench coat in your closet is essential! This one item can be used all year long and can take any outfit from boring to classic. I never thought of these oxford shoes as being cute or feminine, but paired with these items it's a no brainer! They can be very comfy compared to heels when walking around the stores.

Paris Inspiration
I love taking inspiration from people I see on the street. This particular outfit was on a girl I saw grocery shopping. Getting dressed up for normal daily activities helps them seem less mundane and a little more fun!

Neutral Prints
Building your wardrobe will require you to have certain pieces. Black and white shirts and cardigans in black, white, and beige are a perfect start! Now it's time to add prints with color!
My rule when choosing a print is to be sure that the print includes a neutral color. That way you can integrate several layering pieces to create an outfit!

Lots o' Layers
Layering can be tricky. You want to look pulled together without looking like a marshmallow.
Choosing a long tank that peaks out underneath a chunky scarf gives a lengthening affect. A leather jacket adds texture while distressed jeans gives a casual appeal. Anchor this outfit with chunky wedges and a large hobo bag.

Chunky Platforms
If you're daring in the shoe category, this post is for you! When I go to the shoe department I am suddenly attracted to the sky high platforms that are more for sitting than standing or walking!
These shoes can be tricky to pair with an outfit without looking hooker "ish". Here I've got a daytime and nighttime look for this sexy shoe. When wearing this shoe during the day I would leave the rest of the outfit very low key. A gray crewneck sweater and boyfriend jeans do the trick. For night, have fun with a LBD and leather jacket!

Modern Shift Dress
This season you're going to see shift dresses everywhere! I absolutely love this silhouette because it looks good on every body type. Find one with a geometric print that is vertical though the center of the body. This will make you look thinner and taller!
The weather is changing at the drop of a hat right now so I suggest layering this dress with a blazer or cardigan. As it gets colder you can put a button up white shirt underneath. Riding boots take this dress out of the 60's into present day fashion.

One Dress Two Ways
When you see a sequined dress you never think "daytime outfit", but why not? Utilizing every piece in your wardrobe will get the maximum bang for your buck!
Sequin dresses are everywhere this season! I especially love rose gold dresses because it looks good on every skin tone. Pairing this dress is hard because you don't want to look like you're going overboard so my suggestion is meshing two styles. Add a leather jacket for texture. The juxtaposition of sequins and leather look so great together! A fabulous clutch in a fabric (no more sequins!) and your signature scent bring it all together!
The second outfit is great for any weekend outing! Add a slouchy gray sweater to make the dress more casual. Thick tights and flats will make you feel like your lounging in your pj's. For added warmth I've included this military jacket (which also is a BIG trend this Fall). Don't be afraid to try new things with your wardrobe! You'll be surprised with how many outfits are actually in your closet :)

Lace Shirt Options
Feminine details can make a pair of jeans sophisticated and beautiful! Neutral colored lace shirts have just enough texture without going overboard.
I've given you two options depending on your sleeve preference. The outfit on the left has a long sleeved button up lace shirt. This is a great piece if you plan on taking this look to the office. You could dress it up even more by adding a high waisted pencil skirt. The next outfit is geared more toward weekend shopping or going out to lunch with a friend. Both outfits have a 70's inspired look by adding the flare jeans and wedge boots.

Hump Day
What is it about Wednesday's that make you want to stay in your PJ's and crawl back in bed? With the cold mornings and warm afternoons it's getting harder to dress for the weather. Today's outfit is inspired by cozy pajama's and layering pieces.
Every girl should have a cute go to t-shirt. Now when I say cute I mean one that didn't come from your man's closet :) Depending on your body shape choose jeans that can be worn with flats. TOM's makes a great flat that can take over where the flip flop left off this Summer. Throw on a plaid button up for added warmth and pull your hair back into a loose bun.
