Handbags for Spring/Summer

Wouldn't it be great if we only needed one bag for every occasion in life!? Unfortunately that is not the case. We need handbags that will carry all our necessities and look cute in the process.

In today's post I will be showing you some of my favorite bags (none over $100) and how to pair them with an outfit.

#2 Again I've paired a cross body leather bag with light weight summer items. When adding a heavy fabric such as leather to an outfit be sure to anchor the look with leather shoes too.

Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson LOVES her finged 70's inspired bag...and I do too! It instantly adds cool to any outfit! Kate has a toddler and this bag has the room to store extra essentials such as diapers, wipes, and a juice box. But if you don't need child accessories this bag gives the room to store an extra cardigan, makeup, and a magazine.

This oufit is very casual and easy to put together. The sheer white button up gives an airy appeal while the colored capris are structured and anchor the outfit. Pairing the coral sunglasses, long gold necklace, and finged bag make this outfit charming and completely characteristic of Kate. Adding one unconventional accessory to your everyday wardrobe brings out your personality and individuality!

Oxford Shirt

An oxford shirt is a must in every girl's closet. Whether you buy one from the women's dept. or steal one of your man's shirts this staple can be worn many ways.

Wearing this shirt unbuttoned gives it more of a cover up feel and not business stuffiness (if that's even a word) LOL! You can even roll up the sleeves for an even more casual look.

For the casual outfit (left) I've paired a tee shirt in a matching color, jean shorts, and flip flops. For the dressed up version find your form fitting white tank and belted khaki shorts. Pair with espadrilles and toned down jewelry. You'll be comfy cool all day long! :)

Yard Sales

Yard sale season is upon us and I'm so excited! I LOVE yard sales and getting a great deal! I usually shop for shoes and clothes, but I have found the most beautiful vases, plates, and furniture for cheap!

Just because you are go through other people's stuff on their front lawn (it is a little hillbilly (: ) doesn't mean that you have to dress like you rolled out of bed. Dress like you're negotiating a business deal because in a sense you are!

It can be cold in the mornings, even in the summer so layering is key here. So I've paired a striped tee with a cardigan and jacket. The blazer adds a high end quality while the tee adds whimsy. You can always switch out the shorts for jeans and flats are in order for the day. Wear a cross body purse so your hands are free and don't forget cash!

school event

In the event that you’ve been invited to a school function or child’s birthday party you should have fun with your look! You’re outfit should have bright colors and be exciting! Keep in mind though that sticky icing fingers, markers, and water balloons may be in the mix so don’t wear your favorite Mark Jacob’s bag and Chanel dress.

Flats are a must at these events and dress comfortably. Chasing kids around in tight constricting clothes is just asking for an anxiety attack! While dressing your kids up is usually the priority here, you should look and feel beautiful too! The pictures taken at this party are going to last a life time so look your best and have fun!

Forever 21

Do you love cheap clothes and accessories? YES!! Who doesn’t? Forever 21 has inexpensive “knock offs” of designer clothes. I think the most expensive piece I’ve ever seen was $30! Not only that, you can find jewelry for less than $2! But going into a Forever 21 store and browsing is very disorienting. The store is HUGE and there are SO many things for my ADD mind to process…I can’t do it! Looking online through everything is my preferred way to shop.

www.forever21.com has so many clothes; you’ll be online for hours! Go in with a purpose…have your wish list in hand while browsing. Also keep in mind the size chart. I usually wear a medium, but I get a Large in most clothing. Remember that these are knock offs…don’t buy a leather jacket thinking it’s going to be a piece you’ll have forever. I bought a few maxi dresses and accessories from this store and LOVE them! You literally can pull an outfit together for less than $50.
