Old Navy Outfit

Old Navy has a lot of really great peices for Fall. I love these satin shorts and ruffle cami. The shorts can be combined with tights and a blazer for work. The ruffle cami looks great with jeans and a cream color cardigan later in the colder months.

Also try new color combinations that you've never thought of putting together! Yellows and blues are a great pairing.

Today is the last day for $10 jeans and definately check out the clearance section for these cute sandals and handbag!

Great Wine Pairing

This weekend Jerron and I plan on going to a vineyard for a wine tasting and antiquing! I can hardly wait! I'm sure Jerron is excited too...

This is the perfect weekend outfit. A cotton dress that has an empire waist and A line skirt. Espadrilles must be comfy, so find a pair with an elevated platform so the heel is not too high to walk. I love turquoise and purple together so I added the necklace for more color. The fedora will play an important roll in keeping my fly aways where they belong while at the vineyard. The big beach bag adds visual appeal with the pattern and also helps me to keep my goodies (wine and any 1920's apparel) all in one place.

That's so 70's

Being comfortable at work is a must! I get asked all the time why I wear dresses every day and for me it's the comfort factor. Today I'll fill you in on my comfort secrets and the Fall Trends.

Since it's just girls here...(men close your eyes and plug your ears), lets talk about shapewear. Shapewear is essential when you feel like your "lumps and bumps" are compromising a beautiful ensemble. Spanx.com is amazing! This website has all the shapewear you could possibly need. Your first piece should be one that covers the tummy, butt, and thighs and is in nude. Then you can start building up from here. This piece will help you feel sucked in and confident in your pretty dresses!

This Fall you're going to see a lot of pieces that have been inspired by the 70's. Starting with the dress, I recommend finding one in a nude color. This way all your trendy accessories will be the spotlight of this outfit. Then layer on a boyfriend cardigan (long in length with no darting at the chest) in a jewel tone. I chose an emerald green, but you can chose one that best matches your skin tone and hair color. The biggest trend in footwear is going to be the penny loafer heel. Find a pair in a brown color this will take you to work and beyond! I will be including these shoes in a lot of upcoming posts. Pull your hair up in a high ponytail and add these darling bows to up the girliness!

LBD Remix

Reusing your LBD (Little Black Dress) as much as possible during the Summer is definitely a great idea!

Here I've paired the LBD with an over sized striped tee and flat sandals. Adding a fedora and fringed cross body bag adds an indie feel to the outfit. Wear this to a concert or winery.

Jeans for your figure

Jeans are THE WORST article of clothing to shop for, especially if you don't know what style to find. I always suggest when you find the "perfect" pair you get one in a dark wash. Keep the tags so you know what to shop for next time you go to the mall. Don't go by the number size and try on several pairs to get the right fit. The jeans brands I love are: EXPRESS, Levi's, American Eagle, and Maurice's. Here is a run down of body shapes and the style of jeans that look best for each type. If you have a style of jeans you LOVE please leave comment on my facebook page which brand they are.

Pop of Color

Buying black or white (even gray) clothing is a must! This will help to create a fashion foundation to work from. When it comes to accessories I like to buy them in fun colors to brighten up an otherwise drab outfit.

This is an outfit I would wear to church, work, or even a kids play date. If you don't have a dress that has this silhouette (wrap dress with an empire waist line) run, don't walk, to the store and buy one! You will love this shape and it is appropriate for all ages. I added an open front cardigan and emphasized the empire waist line of the dress with a skinny belt. Add flats in a similar color and your outfit is complete! I added yellow, but you can add any favorite color to your outfit.

Coral and Beige

The one thing I love to do most is mix unconventional colors in an outfit. By using a beige drape tee and dark was jeans the color wheel is your oyster...

I've added a coral bib necklace to bring attention back up to the face. Black sandals and a black belt keep the focus on the coral necklace. If you have any beige sundresses this is the perfect way to stop it from washing you out!
